
The VD1-40.5 series high-voltage vacuum circuit breaker for indoor installation (hereinafter referred to as the “switch”) is designed for use in three-phase AC electrical systems with a frequency of 50 Hz, rated voltage 40.5 kV for switching on and off load currents, overload currents and short-circuit currents in industrial and mining enterprises, power plants and substations.

The circuit breaker uses a vertical arrangement of the circuit breaker and the drive, which effectively reduces the depth of the circuit breaker. The three arc chutes and associated live parts are insulated from each other by three independent epoxy resin insulation cylinders, forming a combined insulation structure. The switch meets the requirements for clearances and creepage distances under normal operating conditions and can effectively reduce the size of the switch. The vacuum arc chute of the main current-carrying circuit and the moving/fixed current-carrying connections are installed inside the insulating cylinder, due to which the distance between the phases is only 300 mm. All electrical connections of the main circuit are made permanent, which ensures high reliability. Insulating cylinders are installed above the circuit breaker frame.
A spring drive specially designed for this new circuit breaker model is installed inside the circuit breaker frame. Its design features are more consistent with the vertical layout of the circuit breaker, and it has become an integral part of the overall design of the circuit breaker. The design of the drive is simple, its output characteristics and parameters are well adapted to the features and requirements of the 40.5 kV vacuum circuit breaker.
The overall layout is rational, aesthetic and concise. The product is characterized by small dimensions, flexible control, high reliability of electrical characteristics, long service life, ease of repair and maintenance, and the drive does not require maintenance.
